According to other things that I've come across, 2.6.8 had the same usb issues with hotplug. Maybe Fedora got it right, although my 2.6.9 kernel souce was straight from kernel.org and it works fine.

I'm using kernel 2.6.8 and have no problem with usb devices, unless they are fairly new on the market. My usb mouse, keyboard, webcam, sony clie, flash drive all work, even my usb cd-burner works under fc1 using kernel 2.4.xx.

Websavages, would it be safe to say that in relation to Fedora, this isn't going to be an issue for you?
