as i understand it, the current LVM thats being used in F14 and below will not be Default as BTRFS has its own Built-in Volume manager . you can follow the conversations in the fedora-devel list http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2011-February/thread.html

I tried btrfs out today, and my system locked up everytime soon after a logging in and even the Anaconda installer was very slow. I see there are a lot of bugs in Bugzilla, but does anyone have btrfs working? Does btrfs work best on fairly new hardware? The KDE desktop locks up, but I can still use a terminal or CTRL+ALT+F2.

I tested BTRFS briefly with Fedora 14 alpha and Gnome.
Everything was ok as far as performance goes, but after some modest playing around, the file system got corrupted. Since there was no usable fsck, there was nothing reasonably useful I could do. I'm sure the FS could be saved with the help of the devel mailing list, but since it was used just for testing purposes, I didn't bother to bother them.
When proper fsck comes, I'll be tempted to give it another go.

I have been running BTRFS on a number of boxes for close to a year now. Most are just root directories but I do have a BTRFS partition sitting on a software raid5 LVS partition. It is 4 1TB drives for a 3TB usable. The only issue I have run into was that the kernel was reporting the space on the big partition incorrectly it was reporting some thing like -24ZBs free an obvious variable over flow. I submitted a bug report and they corrected it pretty quickly.
That partition had been ext4 but it was losing data so I did the conversion to BTRFS. I have had no issues with it since.
