Today I have accidently uninstalled Python and supported file.

After that I rebooted with RAID - 1 HDD.

But what I found that the stable version of Fedora 8 was working fine but in order to upgrade I just got jeopardize things, Now HELP is required.

I want to install YUM again into Fedora 8, can anyone help so after that I can atleast download or upgrade into that system.

Please advice for this version only.

Please don't advice to format or reinstall Fedora 8.

Please explain it in simple english language.

Thanks to all Geeks!!!

You can use a Fedora Live CD to re-install python and/or yum and everything else that got dragged out with python. I recommend using the same version as the busted system (Fedora 8) to avoid incompatibilities in rpm. Boot with the Fedora 8 Live CD, mount the busted system's partition(s), and use the Live CD's yum with the --installroot=dir option to re-install python and/or yum. You are not the first person to do this. Go here for details...http://fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1002591#post1002591
