Hi
No. You should report this in upstream GNOME bugzilla.

well, he's using the proprietary NVIDIA driver, which may make things tricky. It's hard to debug.

Same here. My configuration is similiar.. My gnome-shell version is 2.31.5 and I'm using the proprietary driver
Do you have any idea why so slow?

Mine is running slow too in my Dell Precision M4400.
I agree with AdamW regarding hardware/software.
I can remove the same hard drive and slap it in another computer and Fedora runs smooth.

So, it's definitely hardware-related it seems.
My intention was to try it out with nvidia driver uninstalled, but as far is I know, th open source driver isn't ready yet to support 3d video, so it would end up with loosing time..
Here (http://pastebin.com/BgebJKDS) is my Xorg.O log after launching gnome-shell I've published it in their ufficial IRC channel..we will see...

Dell was kind enough to post a Red Hat nvidia rpm (dell-nvidia-180.22-1dkms.x86_64.rpm) for my laptop.
I'll try this and reply back whether or not I see improvement.

NVIDIAŽ QuadroŽ FX 770M 512MB dedicated memory, or NVIDIA Quadro FX 1700M7

Thanks. So, we're gonna wait for the final version of gnome-shell, hoping that each the support for nvidia card or for nouveau will be improved...it shouldn't be a long waiting.

Hi
Keep an eye on

relevant changes will be backported to Fedora's kernel anyway; Ben Skeggs works full time on nouveau for Fedora (paid by Red Hat) and is proactive about ensuring Fedora's kernel has all the best available code.
You can test the current Alpha release candidate - http://serverbeach1.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/15-Alpha.RC2/ - and see how that works for you.
