Hi

I've been using amsn for a while, but now i've upgraded to 64 bit Fedora, i can't get it to work. Amsn installed ok, the problem seems to be with the TLS download, does anyone have amsn working in 64 bit linux, or know of a TSL plugin that works with 64 bit fedora.

I'm back using gaim just now, which is a good app but i do miss some of the features of amsn.

thanks

think it's actually a bug with amsn, I had the same problem too :( sorry about that mate, still, hopefully there's a patch or something for it?

Hi

Thanks for your reply :) I've noticed there is a new version of amsn out, can anyone confirm whether or not it works in FC2 64 bit. I lost my FC2 install when my slave drive decided to go belly up  I've got my new drive installed but i'm trying to decide if i should put 64 bit back on or just stick with 32 bit for a while longer.

thanks

i'll give amsn a go once FC3 finishes downloading and tell you what's going on if that's cool, else you can stick with gaim i reckon, not as cool as amsn but it does the job, plus i reckon the 64 bit version is a lot faster, at least on FC2 it is, i've got 2 machines, one running 32 bit FC2 and the other running 64bit FC2, going to switch to FC3 when it downloads though, wish me luck!!! :)

hi

Thanks that would be great :-) Yeah I have a 32 bit install on another machine as well. Good luck with the FC3 install, I'd love to hear what you think of it.

FC3 is great!!! Love the interface, a few minor changes, like the layout but cos I'm a linux newbie it doesn't really matter that much. Still, I've decided to give up on 64 bit linux for a while because of the issues with wifi and currently I'm running an ugly green cable to my router which is cluttering up everything!
So, now I'm off to sort out wifi, hopefully it wont be too difficult :s
Oh, and i'll try amsn as well

Would anyone be able to tell me how to install tsl1.5.0 after downloading and extracting the tar.gz file?

I am very new to Linux and still getting to grips with it.

I am unsure of the commands to build and install the tsl into the correct directory.
Any advice or known websites that would help would be greatly appreciated.

Geoffrey Warnock

Hope this this guide helps you on how to install software on linux.

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-tutorials-howtos-reference-material/64958-how-install-software-linux.html

There is normally a README file that tells you how to install the software with what ever program you download.
