Prolly a dumb question

If I upgrade my FC2 kernel to 2.6.6 can I delete the source files I unpacked in /usr/src/linux-2.6.6 ?

Or is there things placed in there during the kernel build.

yes, you can. but it's generally a good thing to keep the sources, in case you want to change something. because the configuration is saved, so it's easy to change what you want.
