In the event that you must make use of the all powerful format command, I think it would be nice if there was a place on here that indexed working config files for yum, apt, and sound mixing and whatever else might come in handy like fstab. I know I could just copy the files but I forgot this last time around. :o This would be really great for future test releases as well.

That would be really cool. I think some of that stuff is already in FedoraFAQ though, isnt it? But it would be really nice to have somebody make an article with a good working fstab, yum config, etc. Maybe we can get somebody to start compiling some stuff for it. I'm willing to help, but i dont have a great understanding of some of the stuff.

I think that Fedora Faqs is working on the new conf samples for FC3.
I still need to update to FC3...everyone has jumped on this release fast...:)

FedoraFAQ has a yum.conf (http://fedorafaq.org/samples/yum.conf) which will probably remain the reference for a while.

fstab varies from machine to machine, the best you could do would be a template or example.

For the rest, a generic config file attached to a how to would work.
