lock keyboard on terminal

is there a reliable way to lock a terminal session during inactivity (as a normal screensaver do for screens) . I have to leave some remote connecions via ssh doing lonk tasks on remote machines, i'd like to lock them selectively if a certain time of inactivity expires.
