I put in the CD and press enter at the prompt. It says that it is uncompressing the linux kernel, then my computer reboots and I start again.

I'm running an EPIA M with a 933 Mhz C3. Core 1 ran fine on it.

Please help,

I have exactly the same problem (see below for system config). Tried to play around with bios settings & kernel parameters, but FC2 just doesn't care. I believe the problems lies within the 2.6 kernel, because Knoppix (Linux live CD based on Gnome) won't boot either with kernel 2.6, has no problems with kernel 2.4 though.

Oh, BTW, i use FC2 Final on DVD

Just checking, do you mean Gnoppix live CD? Knoppix uses KDE. I have no problem running Knoppix 3.4 on my EPIA 2004-05-04 didn't work but they released a fix for that one that corrected the problem.

Either way, at this point I've just decided to use FC1. I know it works well with the hardware.

Take a look at Bugzilla. It's a problem with the pagetable code in the kernel and the missing page size extension (PSE) in the VIA C3.

There is a c3boot.iso with a new kernel to install FC 2 on EPIA or other VIA C3 boards.

It's all described here:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=120685#c167

Thanks! I couldn't find that in bugzilla, I've never been good at browsing bug repositories though.
