I am running Feora 13 64 bit. I saw release news and started downloading feora 14 64 bit.
All okay so far. Downloading 3.25 in India is a feat in itself. Anyways.

1. I download the iso image (used torrent).

2. hash is okay.

3. Burned onto DVD. - Tried booting using DVD. System does not even recognise DVD as bootable.
Double checked all BIOS and images settings. No luck. With same DVD drive, i can boot winodws 7 install CD/DVD, can boot feodra 13, fedora 12, fedora 11 (all 64 bit) wihtout problem. That rules out DVD drive problem.
I am on P5KC Asus motherboard. The DVD SATA setting is auto in BIOS.

4. Trying to install from USB - Created image on usb drive as outlined for fedora 13. System tries booting through usb and takes me to first screen. IT says press isntall to boot. That's all. nothing happens afterwards.

I am lost. I ahave checked whatever I could. Seems to be problem with image itself.
Is there anybody else out there having same problem?
IS there a way to re-arrange the iso image? If yes, then how?

Thanking in advance. Let me know if I nee to provide more information.

Anil

Are those media which boot successfully dvd or cd? Maybe your drive successfully boots cd but not dvd?
Did you try another dvd to burn the iso on? It may also worth trying a different dvd manufacturer.

Other install dvd or cd boots fine.
Tried booting on my laptop and same problem in booting from dvd.

Now i tried this.

Used unetbootin-windows-494.exe and created usb.
I try to boot through usb. Works fine!! I pass initial screens.
It tries looking for disk image. (not sure what disk image!!)

initrd.img? *.iso image?

The message is "could not find drive disk image!!'"

What is this? What file/image it's trying to get?

Please help.

It is trying to look where the kernel is located. There have been some reports here on the forum about such problems. Some people had luck by putting the usb device on first place in the boot list in the BIOS. However, it may also be the case that unetbooting just screwed the installation (had this myself a couple of times).
To rule out unetbootin you could try Fedora's own usb installation tool:

https://fedorahosted.org/liveusb-creator/

be careful. Make sure you can install anakodi for kde plus boost.

CSchwangler, With liveusb creator, the system even does not cross first screen. First screen is press install for install and nothing happens.

With unetbooting, all is okay when I cross choose languange and keyboard screen. Then it says, give the location where is image stored. (dont know what image-initrd, install??, iso image??)

Then I point to usb device, nothing happens. IT complains that disk drive image not found.

What image its referring to?

snoze, not sure what exactly you are advising. Please elaborate.

Hi,

I too have faced a similar problem after downloading the torrent file for fedora 14 named "Fedora-14-x86_64-DVD". After loading such a huge file(3.25GB) and copying on the
DVD to make a bootable disk --- the DVD is not even recognised for installation.

Any solutions?

I am determined to get this working.

Reuben

You don't copy the data, it's a ISO image and needs to be burnt as a image file.

Hi Leigh123linux....

Thanks for your help.

The solution given by you has worked. This should make installation of fedora 14 simple to all users willing to install fedora 14.
