Hi,

I F14 from RC1 installed. Really nice, much more faster and responsive. Even on my quick machines there is a noticable speed improvement.

I also recognized, sftp transfers went much more faster. In previous version of Fedora, the data transfer rate was stuck at ~4MB/sec on a 100 Mbit LAN. Using gvfs was even lower, something 2MB/sec, I think. Now plain SFTP (Filezilla) alsmost optimal data transfer, ~10MB/sec. gvfs also much faster around 6,5 MB/sec.

But I recognized that connection seem to break up for no reason, independent of amount of data transfered when using gvfs. It crashed up when receiving a document from my server, as well, when half cooying of my 30GB music collection.
FileZilla seems just fine.

Can u please test and confirm? I will file a bug report then.

Thanks,
LK

I just copied a 700MB ISO from my desktop to my HTPC via sftp-over-gvfs...it ran smoothly at 4MB/sec, which isn't as fast as raw scp (that managed 6.7MB/sec - this is powerline ethernet) but it did go smoothly and didn't appear to break up at all.

Thanks for feedback. Have both PCs F14?

no, the remote is Mandriva. I'll test F14 to F14 now...

...well I'm hitting an interesting bug there (my two F14 systems can't see each other in the Network view), but if I gvfs-mount the laptop, I can then transfer a file to it. Seems to be running smoothly at 1.6MB/sec (802.11g wireless, so that's reasonable, that's about what I get with raw scp), 130MB in right now.
