I recently found this word processing programming, and it actually opens word documents with passwords!. Has anyone else come across it it seems like it's a little under the radar. [One less reason for me to boot windows for anything other than video confrencing and KOTOR.]

I have used Abiword when I wanted to do a quick edit, so I didn't have to wait for OOo. However, OOo has improved greatly so I haven't used Abiword in a while.
About the video confrencing, have you heard of GnomeMeeting (http://www.gnomemeeting.org/). It supports many formats and is available via yum.

Abiword is a nice word processor, but OpenOffice gets all the spotlights because it's available for all platforms. Similarly, gnumeric is a nice spreadsheet, but it doesn't get much attention.

I really like OO.org but in my opinion Abiword is the superior wordprocessor. I do think however that its going to be a tough call when OO.org 2.0 comes onto the scene.
