Hi

I trying to install fedora 13 into my harddisk along with windows vista(already existing). I have 2 primary partitions and 1 logical partition. when choosing the "Type of Installation would you like" for installation

For "Replace existing Linux systems" I'm getting an error saying" Error Partitioning :could not find enough free space"

For "Shrink current systems"
for what ever partitions i select it says " Resize file size error: new size same as old size"

For "Create custom layout"
when create storage im getting "Error partiioning : could not allocate requested partitions not enough free space on disks.

could you pls help me with any altenatives for the same.

Thanks

Hello,
How big is the partition? looks like from the error you need more space.
If you are trying to upgrade from an older version your /boot maybe to small, with F13 /boot should be 500mg.

Below are the partition details

Volume Layout Type File system Status Free Space
Simple Basic EISA Config 71 MB
C Simple Basic NTFS Boot, Primary Partition 31.09 GB
D Simple Basic NTFS Primary Partition 137.14 GB
F Simple Basic NTFS Logical Drive 14.91 GB

I tried shrinking the D drive and also tried free space in F drive.

Im installing fedora for the first time.

If F is what you are trying to I would say it is to small for a full install, I would think about 40g needed.
Have you tried in windows to create more space for F ? When you do it would be best not to give it a partition type. Make it unallocated

I tried extending the F drive but in vain but the next one i tried unallocating the 15 GB F drive and that was working fine...thanks for the advice :)
