View Full Version : Firefox: Animated GIFs flashing?

Weird little problem, anyone else experiencing this?

In Firefox, since upgrading from F13, animated GIFs flash on and off rather than animate.

FYI, it's not happening in Chrome.

Yes, same here. Blinking or flashing, no animate.

Bug?Well, one can presume it's not a feature. ;)

I built Firefox 3.6.8 using the FC14 spec file and related patches, same deal. Oddly enough, the animated :rolleyes: on this forum is working fine. It's just on other forums and sites.

Not the end of the world, something worth noting.

I have been noticing that the animated radar(s) on wunderground.com are not working in F14, no problem in F13. Is this what you all are discussing?

Animated radar works on wunderground for me (at least somehow), but for example these animations not

They are blinking.
Btw. using x86_64 system.

I see what you mean. Your links icons were blinking quickly, the animation at the top was ok. I am 64 bit as well - except have to have flash player in 32 bit for firefox.

It's not a flash player (32-bit) issue.
You can see the same problem also if you remove the flash player.

Firefox 4 beta x86_64 downloaded from mozilla works correctly, so no problems with animated GIFs.

Also Firefox 3.6 works fine when downloaded from Mozilla.
This can be a fedora issue.

I install firefox 4.0b6 from remi-testing repo, and there is no problem, but with firefox from fedora14 (version 3...), gif don't work properly.

I experience the same problem, x86, with or without Flash, two different video cards.
