View Full Version : Does Compiz work with rawhide mesa drivers?

I'm using the F13 mesa drivers in F14 to work around bug 613118 (https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=613118). If compiz works correctly in rawhide with Intel graphics, I'd like to test the rawhide mesa drivers.

Thanks,

Everything seems to be working. I haven't played with this much, but it's something that I test with large batches of updates and it has been pretty solid for a number of kernels now:

[R3353@ric-reeselinux-03 ~]$ glxinfo | grep Mesa
client glx vendor string: Mesa Project and SGI
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) G33 GEM 20100330 DEVELOPMENT
OpenGL version string: 1.4 Mesa 7.9-devel

Thanks for the info, R3353. I tried the rawhide drivers, but they have the same artifact problem as the F14 drivers. I wonder if broken compiz would be considered a beta blocker. That might get something done. ;)

Sorry to hear they did not work for you. I looked for the artefacts described in the bug report, but did not see anything that limited usage. The lines separating portions of windows blink a bit when a window wobbles, but the desktops on a cube, exposé, fire painting, et cetera seem to be working.
