Is there any firewall management program available that would let me configure the firewall just like the one on a linksys box?
Thanks!

firestarter, is a gui frontend to the firewall....I confess that I don't mess with the firewall much because I am behind a router....I adjust my router by going through web browser to URL
192.168.1.1
You can install friestarter with YUM:
yum install firestarter

I like Firestarter (http://firestarter.sourceforge.net/) for configuring a firewall under Linux. There also is Guarddog (http://www.simonzone.com/software/guarddog/). Just doing a search on freshmeat.net (http://freshmeat.net) for firewall generated 330 results.

This picture shows the kind of firewall management interface that I'm searching for. The linksys box being configured for port forwarding through a web browser.

please note that this is standalone distribution - not addon program to Fedora Core...

Keep in mind I have only been using linux for one week....
I have installed FC2 on two machines. One with Gnome and one without.
On the one box with Gnome, I installed and used firestarter.
Can I do this on the box with bash only? I assumed that I couldn't for some reason.

You can't use Firestarter, as it requires a GUI. If writing IPTables rules has you stumped and/or confused, there are a couple of command-line based "helper" packages that I've seen listed on freshmeat.net that might do the trick for you. No, I unfortunately can't remember any of the program names... :p

You may very well be able to ssh from your gnome box to your non-gnome box and run firestarter remotely using the Xwindows capabilites across the network. As long as the libraries are there on the non-gnome box. For example, if you ssh to your "non" box and key in xclock, that little application is actually running on your "non" box and displaying on your other box.
If you come from a Windows background, it's a little like Windows Terminal Services. Unix/Linux has had this capability for years before Microsoft implemented their solution. I used to take advantage of this by dialing in to my Unversity with my little 486 running RedHat Linux 4.something and running the University's $30,000 CAD/CAM software over a dialup. Sure it was a little slow, but it beat driving to school and fighting for a machine.
Once you start finding out what all Linux can do, you're going to ask yourself why you never thought to play with it sooner. ;)

Just going to throw my vote out there too for firestarter. I put my linux box in the dmz to test out firestarter and then had my friend nail me with everything he had and it basically kicked his a$$ he was nailing so many ports that my computer started lagging pretty bad and it is a decent computer AMD 1900+ 256MB ram, anyways if I hadnt given him my IP he wouldnt even have been able to see me and adjusting firestarter is very easy; like if you dont want to reply to ping request, and I love the fact that you can see as soon as someone is hitting your firewall, and then when you see someone who looks like there trying to get in you just block there ip real quick.
