Okay, so I installed Mplayer and it works fine. I then installed GMplayer, it's GUI, and things are not so good for it. I got all the dependencies for it, GTK-devel, etc installed. Now Gmplayer when I run it blinks a tiny window into existence then vanishes. Anyone else try this? I also have a bit of a dodgy install of VLC running.

I installed mplayer with no issues. I downloaded them from this site: http://luna.cs.ccsu.edu/dominik/mplayer/
good luck.
(And yes, I'm also using FC3t3)

I have MPlayer working, that isn't the issue. THe issue is Gmplayer. I scoped out that site and it seems that it wouldn't resolve my gmplayer issue?

You should use yum (fedorafaq.org/#installsoftware) to install all your packages. I used the fedora.us/livna repos for fc2 and they installed flawlessly. yum install mplayer*

I compile mplayer from source.
And on Fc3t3 there is no gtk-devel installed, so I used mplayer gtk2 patch.
It works fine with gtk2 :)

Yeah I used the FC2 RPMs from http://luna.cs.ccsu.edu/dominik/mplayer/ and gmplayer and mplayer work fine. I also installed the FC2 RPM for Firefox/MPlayer plugin at http://www.fedoranews.org/tchung/mplayerplug-in/2.70/ and it works great. It will occasionally crash, but rarely.
