FC13 - Sony Vaio VPCY2190X - no microphone

FC13 - Sony Vaio VPCY2190X (Sony Vaio Y Series laptop)

My alsa configuration is here :

The audio out works fine including the headphones.

But I can not get the microphone internal or external to work.

Are there instructions for configuring audio on the sony vaios ?

/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf

So using :

options snd-hda-intel model=basic

makes the external microphone work but the audio out is on for both the
speakers and headphones at the same time.

This fixes the speaker problem but the mic no longer works.
options snd-hda-intel model=eapd probe_mask=1 position_fix=1
