xmms-mp3 from fc2 doesn't work in fc3. Is it possible to add support for mp3 in fc3t3?

Thanks for reply. I tried, but got next errors from ./configure:

checking for GTK - version >= 1.2.2... no
*** The gtk-config script installed by GTK could not be found
*** If GTK was installed in PREFIX, make sure PREFIX/bin is in
*** your path, or set the GTK_CONFIG environment variable to the
*** full path to gtk-config.
configure: error: *** GTK+ >= 1.2.2 not installed - please install first ***

When I searched with rpm, I found gtk-1.2.10, so I have no idea whats wrong here. Any hint?

Do you have gtk+-devel package installed?

BTW, xmms-mp3-1.2.10-2.2.p.1.fc2.fr package from http://freshrpms.net/ works ok with my FC3 from Rawhide.

Thanks for reply, foobar. I have gtk+devel package installed.
Your advice about xmms-mp3-1.2.10-2.2.p.1.fc2.fr package from http://freshrpms.net worked for me also. Thanks for your help.

recompiling stuff in a test release is silly. Test releases are for testing core packages, if you replace the core packages, you are wasting yours and developers time.

To get mp3 support in xmms in Core 3 test3, have a look at the xmms-mp3 src.rpm from rpm.livna.org and try to rebuild that package to fit the xmms in Core 3 test3.

Actually, the fc2 xmms-mp3 package work just fine. There is a sample yum.conf on the forums (search for it) that lets yum use some fc2 repos. Just be mindful of which packages are core packages and which are extras. But of course it is not advisabel to mix rpms of different versions/distroa.
