I am using Fedora Core 1 and mozilla and netscape 7.2. The problem I have is when I tried to access a secured page (https page) which runs on port 8443 It keep on browsing but the page was never loaded. But If I try any other secured site without any port numbers it loads fine. Previously I was running a firewall. Now I have disabled it. But in both circumstances the problem persists. Please help me to overcome this

Disabling the firewall is not a good idea. It won't make a difference as you found out because the firewall blocks your ports not the serving site.

Can you post the link so we can test the pages? Are there any other examples of this? Are you sure the problem is your computer? It could just be their server. Are you using a proxy?

I think the problem is with my network and server. When I tried with my home computer which uses a dialup internet connection in win2k server, it works fine. But here I access the leased line internet through a lan connection. My leased line internet is connected to a win2k server system. Should I have to change anything in the win2k server? Because I could not access the page from IE 6 installed in the win2k server also. Please help
