Hi,
I just upgraded fc12 to fc13 and find there are still a LOT of fc12 files installed. Does it harm when I just do "rpm -e" on them?
Thanks

YES, it will hose your installation! Do a search on the forum, and you'll find several threads about it. One of them is from someone who did exactly what you're asking about. It's interesting reading. :)

What makes you thinking that there have to be only fc13 packages on your system? On mine, there is even one fc11 package. This doesn't matter, it only means that a package hasn't been updated since the last Fedora version, but since there is no newer version available, it remains as it is.

OK, so if it isn't broken, don't fix it? Sounds like a plan.

Well, actually, it isn't broken. Its just that there are no newer versions available. Under no circumstances remove those packages. You would end up with an inconsistent system that probably would require reinstallation.
