I created a LiveUSB via LiveUSBCreator with the x86_64 KDE Live CD, and I get an odd outcome when I install the nvidia driver by the process outlined in leigh123linux's http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=204752 (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=204752)thread.

The grub.conf items I cannot configure, unfortunately, as they do not reside on the same directories as expected - if at all.

Basically, it looks like the screen is zoomed in maybe 1/5, and the bottom 1/3 of the screen is like the effect you would get if you did a vertical polar filter.

What it really shows, is the last line of pixels at the 2/3 vertically down mark, being scraped to the bottom of the screen.

Admittedly, I'm likely reducing the likelihood of an amicable resolution by using the LiveUSB, but wondered if anyone had come across this before and if they'd found a fix?

Some details about your hardware could help narrow down the problem.

Indeed!

The graphics hardware for the computer I am using the LiveUSB on, is an Nvidia GeForce 7300 LE.

I used 'lshw' to get a pastebin output for the system, in case other components may shed light on why this is happening.

I hope this helps.

I found the experimental nouveau 3d support quite adequate.
yum install mesa-dri-drivers-experimental

No hacking needed.

If you had a problem with the grub step on Leigh's guide you didn't type it correctly. I have used that guide to install the nvidia drivers on a 64 bit system installed from the KDE live cd and it worked without a problem.
