Installing Fedora Core 2 resulted in trashing my partition table. As a major poster on the linuxiso.org forum, I discovered I was not alone. If this issue has been addressed already my apologies for repeating it. What is the solution for this issue? Since I run multiple Linux distros and I am in the process of reinstalling them along with Windows XP, I do not intend to install Fedora 2 again or recommend that anyone else do it until I can be assured there is a fix to this problem. I am personaly not all that upset since it was time for a housecleaning anyway but I don't want to be without an answer for others. Thank you for your time.

Looks like you've hit the hard drive geometry bug. Same here. I had the same solution: back up some, wipe, and reinstall.

Apparently LBA hard drive geometry in the bios is best. See this bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=115980

Lots of people are having this problem - please take a look at my fedora forum posts at http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?s=&postid=14703

I've noted a couple of solutions which have been discussed on various mailing lists.
