Try installing kernel-devel and see if the compile gets further along or actually completes.
su -c 'yum install kernel-devel'
You may need more than that but it's a start.

The first errors look like the kernel is too new (or old) for the source that you have. Check what kernel versions it is compatible with.

The second errors look like gcc version incompatible or macros incompatible. Check the required gcc version for that old source. Or try using compat-gcc

The source code is too old for the kernel.

[leigh@localhost madwifi-0.9.4]$ make
./kernelversion.c:13:30: error: linux/utsrelease.h: No such file or directory
Checking requirements... ok.
Checking kernel configuration... /bin/sh: -c: line 0: syntax error near unexpected token `|'
/bin/sh: -c: line 0: `echo char *uts_release = UTS_RELEASE; | grep -q -i '^[2-9]\.[4-9]\.' || { \'
make: *** [configcheck] Error 1
[leigh@localhost madwifi-0.9.4]$

Try

su
yum install svnget the latest source

svn checkout http://madwifi-project.org/svn/madwifi/trunk madwifi
cd madwifi
make
su
make installrD2ErC7K
