I use F12 and like it very much. I switched to xfce (excellent IMHO) and notices chrome seems to crash often. I realize it is a beta linux but no crash at all in gnome.
anyone have a similar experience, any fix for this?

I've run chrome in xfce and kde without problems. In fact it is more reliable than Firefox.

You know what many people who replied earlier even not mentioned about the sandbox feature. Basically, sandbox feature lead Chrome crashes due to some technical reasons. It has to be disabled and merely re-starting Google Chrome would work for you. Follow the given Chrome crash-fix (http://chromecrashes.com/) instructions and check whether the problem still persists. I'm sure your problem will be fixed.
1. Right click the Chrome icon on your desktop.
2. Select Properties.
3. Click the Target tab.
4. Click the Shortcut box.
5. Add following line next to the existing path:
6. Click Apply, and then OK.
