I have pppd and wvdial approaches to connect my PC to internet through 3G AnyData ADU-500A modem. But configs, I have found in the web, are not working. Can anybody advice me?

Please, help me. I have tried wvdial and pppd and nothing helped. Fedora 12 can't work with 3G modems? I assigned the modem via USB and NetworkManager proposed to add the new modem connection. I did. But it does not want to go to internet. In windows as always everything is fine.

How to downgrade Network Manager to the core Fedora 12 installation? Or how to downgrade Modem Manager?

Please, help me setup 3G connection. The modem is recognized by Network Manager but it doesn't set a connection. I have installed Windows and reinstalled Fedora 12 to connect the PC to internet in Windows.

Such a shame for Fedora that it does not support 3G internet!

Maybe I should not use NM?

Have you read this? http://live.gnome.org/NetworkManager/MobileBroadband
What have you done already? (Step by step).
Also your modem and provider information will be useful.

I guessed NM can connect me to internet easily. However not now as I see. So the simple steps I made with NM:

1. Booted Fedora 12 system
2. Connected the modem AnyData ADU-500A through usb
3. Right mouse clicked NM to enable Broadband internet (selected the tick)
4. Left mouse clicked to run the NM connection wizard, because obviously NM had recognized the modem as CDMA-based (EVDO) modem. Then I chose Ukraine, MTS operator and finally created it.
5. After that I edited the new connection - I added to the #777 number the login (=mobile) and password (=internet), which are used with my 3G internet operator.
6. After that I rebooted Fedora and runned NM 3G connection, which was failed

Simple settings did not work. Should I describe what I have done with wvdial and pppd settings? They are not using NM, but a few files of configuration.

Can you show the logs? Where did you get information about login and password, which you added? Can you create a new connection without adding anything manually and try it?

Unfortunately, can't test connection with your provider, but any other available just works in Fedora-12 with standard configuration (just selecting provider and plan). Of course, you must enter the PIN if you have one. Sometimes NetworkManager (when connecting) asks for a password (even though there shouldn't be one) - just any number or letter will do - I type "1".
No predefined logins and passwords.
