I'm writing about the old load_cycle_count issue with hard disks in some laptops (http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=194560). The issue persists in my laptop with F13 at the moment, and moreover the "ugly fix" that worked in F11 for me doesn't work any more.
On the other hand, the issue was solved by the Debian developers (I actually tried Ubuntu 10.04 beta and it was solved there, so I'm assuming, and also read somewhere, this was inherited from Debian). The hdparm value is set to 254 when not on battery and 128 when on battery, and it works perfectly for me. I'm sure the fix cannot be too difficult, and it would really be great if it could be incorporated in Fedora.
I'm not sure if this is really a bug, so I haven't filed one, but I can do it...
