Hi all! I'm running F12 in my notebook an planning to upgrade to F13 as soon as it's released. My question is if F13 will include ureadahead [1] which is designed for speeding up the boot process in Ubuntu and seems pretty interesting. I've tried Lucid Lynx under a virtual machine and it really is very fast under that conditions. Thanks for comments.

Hi,

Fedora 13 is nearing beta at this point and won't be including any major changes. Perhaps for the next release if anyone volunteers to do the work (package it, test it etc)

Ok, thanks. This new concept seems interesting, maybe it could be included in F14.
Best regards.

That post doesn't seem to explain how ureadahead in any way differs from plain ol' readahead, which is already in Fedora.

Hi,

I have tried to port ureadahead to F12 in netbooks. It works well with upstart. Just for your information, it's not so difficult to replace readahead with ureadahead.

Enjoy! :-)

Hi,

If you are willing to do the work for Fedora, refer to
