View Full Version : Newbie-Need Sun JDK 6 installation help

Hi,
I am a beginner to Linux OS and find it hard to work on it :(, . Kindly, can anyone help me in installing Sun JDK 6 and Tomcat? I am using Fedora 12 OS.
Any links to tutorials/docs is appreciated.

You can install Tomcat using yum.
su -c 'yum install tomcat'
To show all available tomcat packages use
yum list tomcat*
Java, on the other hand, has always been, and remains, somewhat of a mystery to me. Seems a necessary evil at best.

Thanks for the Tomcat installation instrucitons.
As u said Java installation remains a mystery. Been scratching my head since a couple of days....

But the problem here is without Java I can't configure Tomcat and other environments which are needed developing Adobe FLEX apps....

The Tomcat web site has no instructions for installation?

Checked the Tomcat site, Java is a pre-requisite for its installation...... :-(

Fedoraunity (http://fedorasolved.org/browser-solutions/sun-jdk) is one of many sites providing instructions on how to install Java SDK on Fedora, but you'll find many more by searching these forums...
