In these hard times of people falling ill with RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) as a result of spending too many hours browsing forums :-), I think it would be a good idea for a desktop-oriented distro such as Fedora to include a program like xwrits (http://www.lcdf.org/~eddietwo/xwrits/).
xwrits is a life-saver for me, because I can configure it to completely block all input for 5 minutes after 55 minutes of work, and the only way I can turn it off is to Ctrl-Fn to the console and kill xwrits. There's an option to ignore it or to de-block it with a password, but I know I can't trust myself with that.
The only (minor) problem with xwrits is that it has a huge amount of features, which can be confusing at first. Therefore I suggest that in FC3 xwrits be included as a standard, and that the user can select during install whether he/she would like to use it, and if so, with what options. The install process could write the xwrits start-up line with parameters to xinitrc or something and that would be that. Include a graphical config-frontend and everyone's happy.
Many people have (had) experiences with RSI, and I'm sure a lot of them would like to see a program such as xwrits.
BTW, does anyone know of any other (free) programs that do RSI-prevention for linux?
