I'm trying Fedora 13 and don't know much about how Fedora handles development versions yet. I notice there is no KDE repo for Fedora 13. Is that because it's unnecessary? I currently use the KDE repo in F12. I'm especially interested in testing KDE packages is why I'm wondering if there is some KDE repo for Fedora 13?

FWIW. So far everything I've tried in F 13 works.:D Except that PackageKit update has been broken for days:

# yum update --skip-broken

Packages skipped because of dependency problems:
PackageKit-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing
PackageKit-glib-0.6.2-0.1.20100225git.fc13.i686 from fedora
PackageKit-glib-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing
PackageKit-gtk-module-0.6.2-0.1.20100225git.fc13.i686 from fedora
PackageKit-gtk-module-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing
PackageKit-qt-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing
PackageKit-yum-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing
PackageKit-yum-plugin-0.6.2-1.fc13.x86_64 from updates-testing

This is probably normal in a development version. Also probably because some of the update dependency packages haven't made it to updates-testing. Just trying to learn my way around, how things are done, and what to expect.

Not sure what the KDE repo does but F13 contains all the components needed by KDE4 in default repos.

What do you mean: "the KDE repo" ? Do you mean KDEForge, aka 'KDE Packaging Project' ? Looks to me like Rex has not built any F12 or + yet. But the standard Fedora Project repos should have all KDE stuff.

From:

http://kde-redhat.sourceforge.net/

>Yum>kde.repo

this is what I have in Fedora 12. Doesn't work in F 13.

Apache/2.2.9 (Fedora) Server at apt.kde-redhat.org Port 80

because 13 isn't there. So I was wondering if there was another url for KDE development?

Hi,

You don't need such a repo. All the latest KDE packages are in the Fedora 13 repository itself.

Thanks. I just checked and KDE package versions are same comparing F 13 to F 12/kde-testing.

Hi,

The the latest KDE version available from http://kde.org as well. So why look for another repo? Completely unnecessary.

The Fedora KDE team provides the separate repository for testing backports of new KDE releases to stable Fedora releases, before they're sent out as official updates. But there's no need to do that for F13, since it's a development release and has the latest KDE already.
