I downloaded the LiveCD from the official site, loaded the ISO in VirtualBox and everything is running fine. I login as the Live User, I see the desktop and when I try to install to the hard disk, no matter what I do it doesn't do anything... here's a video showing what I mean:

What can I do about this?

Install using either the dvd or the netboot.iso

Can netboot.iso be downloaded online?

It's netinst.iso actually

So, in machine set-up on Virtual Box, instead of using a physical cd, you have a choice of mounting the iso from a file on your computer. That is the method I prefer. Then, after the install is complete, shut down the machine, then go into settings and remount your physical cd drive, power up the Fedora VM and you're good to go. Not that complicated really.

I think this might be related to how much memory your VM configured with. I got exactly your problem using VirtualBox and when using VMware. I just changed my VMware machine to have 512MB memory and the installation worked.

I'll update this post later when I try on VB.

I had the same problem here with the LiveCD. If it's a matter of insufficient memory, one would think there would be a dialog stating that the Live Installer isn't starting for that reason. Whatever.

I ended up using the DVD. F13 hasn't been particularly stable in VBox 3.2.0 for me anyway.

Upping the memory of my VB guest to 512MB did the trick for me. Install completed just now.

I agree you would expect some error though. Installing via the terminal may give more error information.

:) ... It happened to me too, but did install it in VB after a second download of the live Gnome CD ISO. LXDE worked fine at the first time. Check also if you really have the F13 final release and not a beta.
