problem with firestarter

I installed firestarter on my FC1 box.
It ran smoothly and all the checked ports were stealth. Problem came when I shut down and booted up the next day. System hung up and wouldn't finish booting. I kept seeing the error
"modprobe can't locate module ppp0" . I had set preferences to run firestarter on bootup. I use dialup and that's where it all happens. I finally removed firestarter and FC1 boots. My question is what's going on and I would really like to use firestarter? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the dialup case, you have to run firestarter after you've got the Internet connexion.

Thanks for reply. Firestarter let's you know that.
My problem is that my entire system hangs up because of the modprobe problem. When I finally got the thing to work again I changed the preferences to not start up on boot but it still didn't wodrk correctly..
