I just installed the FC12 spin of LXDE on my netbook. I upgraded and see no power management apps in the menu. Are there any to configure or do I need to install some?

You can do power management with xscreensaver: open the screensaver preferences from menus and go to the second tab.

there aren't many things to change there. I was hoping for something that would tell my netbook to go into standbye or blank the screen when the lid is shut.

I'm sorry, there is currently nothing in LXDE to do this. You need to install ether xfce4-power-manager or gnome-power-manager.
