I downloaded the Fedora-12-i686-Live-KDE.iso and validated at the Windows Command Prompt:
sha256sum.exe Fedora-12-i686-Live-KDE.iso
1bb64a4eedecf4730b47fcbb6c17b49d6deaccf7b00b17dd7b 1091af57cf1c1e *Fedora-12-i686-Live-KDE.iso

Then I burned the cd with the "Burn image option".
The cd boot with a blue screen with white image which looks like lemon or balloon.
Then this error screen appear:
mount: /dev/loop2: can't read superblock
/squashfs/LiveOS/ext3fs.img: No such file or directory
umount: /squashfs: not mounted
mount: unknown filesystem type 'DM_snapshot_cow'
mount: unknown filesystem type 'DM_snapshot_cow'
mount: unknown filesystem type 'DM_snapshot_cow'
...

Can't mount root filesystem

Boot has failed, sleeping forever.

The computer is Acer Aspire computer M3100 (AM3100-UD5200A. AMD Athlon64 x2).
The same CD fails on Acer Aspire computers M3202 (AMD Athlon II X3 triple-core processor) and X1800 (AX1800-E9232. Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q8200).
I had burned three CDs.
The three computers all run Windows ok so hardware is not the problem.
I installed and run Ubuntu 8.04 on M3202 successfully.

BTW, the kubuntu 9.10 CD works on Acer M3202 and M3100 but not X1800.
The System Rescue CD 1.3.4 does not work on Acer M3202 and X1800 but works correctly on M3100.

There is a known bug for certain Acer models. You should apply the workaround mentioned here

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common_F12_bugs#System_hangs_when_booting_on_some_ Acer_Aspire_One_models

and see if that fixes your problems,

As per the instruction, after giving ssb.blacklist=1 as a boot option:
vmlinuz0 initrd=initrd0.img root=live:CDLABEL=Fedora-12-i686-Live-KDE rootfstype=auto ssb.blacklist=1 ro liveimg quiet rhgb rd_NO_LUKS rd_NO_MD noiswmd

this warning appear:
Unknown boot option `ssb.blacklist=1' : Ignoring

The same error occur (mount: unknown filesystem type 'DM_snapshot_cow').
Please help.

i get the same error - mount: /dev/loop2: can't read superblock - trying to boot from cd burned from Fedora-12-i686-Live.iso
system-
simple old dell dimension 5100, intel p4 531, mem-2.5g, radeon x300se,sata 80g & 320g drives
image burned with nero on win xp pro
any help?
going to try to d/l & burn from Fedora-12-i386-DVD.iso next.
also - i didn't see this anywhere - do i need to format an ext3 partition or just leave an unformatted partition around?
i ran slackware years ago but forgot everything - trying to work my way back to civilization.
any help appreciated.
is it just that there is no i386 live iso ?
