View Full Version : What have you received, or are receiving, for Christmas?

I don't know what I'm receiving for Christmas. I really just want some clothes maybe, because clothes can be hard to find in my size.

Have any of you gotten your gifts yet? if not, what are your predictions for what you will be getting?

My wife and I have a pact not to buy each other anything. Our anniversary is Christmas eve. We usually use that and Christmas as an excuse to buy something spectacular and extravagant together each year. I am holding out for a hog, but...

We also informed all relatives that we were NOT exchanging gifts at all this year! They are welcome to buy for the kids and of course we will buy for all their kids, but adult gifts are out. If I receive anything I refuse to feel guilty that I didnt give anything in return. They were all warned. :)

Pretends to be a Jehovah's Witnesses this year. j/k, not exchanging presents.

Just realized I have not been paid from my recruiter, been a week, overdraft charges are coming now. Giving auto-pay bills a second thought.

My family is still in Japan and I'm in the states.

Merry Christmas to you all!

I get to have a medical procedure (quasi surgery) done on the 23rd. With any luck I'll be in and out that day and home in time for Christmas.

Great news, Leigh. In celebration, I will have a couple of beers tonight, cheers. (Any excuse will do). :)

As for Christmas, it's the usual - a DVD or two (that they've chosen) for the closest relatives and a card for the rest.

I sometimes save up a big purchase for around Christmas, although there's no wrapping or putting it under a tree. This is one such year, and it's a ... new computer: Phenom-II X4 945 3.0GHz, 4GB DDR3-1600, 500GB SATA2, G210 nVidia 512MB (still only a basic video card as I don't do any 3D stuff or gaming to speak of). The last new computer was in 2004, so I'm looking foward to the extra power.

Christmas?

Got to see family, watch the kids open presents, and spend some time before Christmas going to their school plays and classroom parties. What more could you want?

I did end up with a regifted digital picture frame, 2 GB Ram upgrade kit for a desktop and white cotton gloves. I forgot about the white gloves but I'm happy to get them because I have a small collection of antique swords that I want to maintain and finger oil is not the best thing for them! :)

Ended up buying Dragon Age: Origins (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Age:_Origins) with some Christmas money I got from G&G...

Interesting game, I must say. Certainly the bloodiest and "darkest" RPG I've ever played, but interesting enough (a few parts of it seem to come down to getting lucky rather than being good, but that happens in a lot of games).

I guess my Christmas came late but I have a few goodies here.

Finally got an external hard drive. Now I can breathe easy about backups. 320 GB. Also got myself a used 9 MP Fujifilm Digital Camera. I have been without a camera for a few years. Cell phone cameras just don't cut it. Camera came with a 1 GB XD card. I got the wife a Sandisk 4 GB MP3 player and some really good quality headphones. She's in seven heaven now - singing to herself downstairs. Also got some ink for the printer. It's been out for about a year now. And a new network card for this PC as the one I have loves to drop the connection or take forever to connect. Car is getting some work.

kona, I thought you meant your wife was dead for a second there. Then I read it again and realised that you were mentioning it in the context that she's very happy and enjoying herself.
