Just updated my computer from 9.04 to 9.10. I had the wonderful OS installed on my computer without any problem. But after some time mouse and keyboard stopped working. This is a serious problem because this computer is shared by my brother and he needs the computer for some college project and so i need to fix this problem right away. I cannot think of re-installing the OS as i have some data and also i don't know if this is the problem with 9.10 or it has happened due to the upgrade.. Please help me with a fix guys

You might have better luck at the Ubuntu forums. There seem to be several open issues in their bug tracking system (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.searchtext=keyboard+mouse+freeze&orderby=-importance&search=Search&field.status%3Alist=NEW&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITH_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=INCOMPLETE_WITHOUT_RESPONSE&field.status%3Alist=CONFIRMED&field.status%3Alist=TRIAGED&field.status%3Alist=INPROGRESS&field.status%3Alist=FIXCOMMITTED&field.assignee=&field.bug_reporter=&field.omit_dupes=on&field.has_patch=&field.has_no_package=). You can check them to see which, if any apply to your situation.

gottymann:
You're going to have a lot better luck getting and answer to this on the Ubuntu forums. I've removed your link and inserted the content.
In the future, post your content, not a link to a blog which contains it.
(Thanks, Greg.)

if he's stuck on using Ubuntu he'd be better off going back to 9.04 or wait for 10.04 or 10.10

To be fair, that's pretty much the way Canonical wants people to think about it. It's not a surprise that someone gets confused; there's no way to get Windows or Mac OS X in 550 flavors.
