I attempted to use livecd-creator and the files located in /usr/share/spin-kickstart folder to create a livecd image. However the following error was generated

Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/mirrorlist?repo=fedora-11&arch=i386 error was
14: PYCURL ERROR 6 - ""
/usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/imgcreate/errors.py:45: DeprecationWarning: BaseException.message has been deprecated as of Python 2.6
return unicode(self.message)
Error creating Live CD : Unable to download from repo : Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: released. Please verify its path and try again

Does anyone know what is causing this error?

For reference, I have attached a file containing the full output

did you try, um, trying again, like it says?

Yes I did. Since I am using a laptop, I'm going to try from my office network (previous attempts on my home LAN) to see what happens.

I used to have the same error message"14: PYCURL ERROR 6 " in a simple "yum update" command, because of a
mismatched network config (no routing defined).:
# ip route
192.168.1.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.100

I just added a default route towards my external router and it went OK:

# ip route add default via 192.168.1.1 dev wlan0 proto static
# ip route list
192.168.1.0/24 dev wlan0 proto kernel scope link src 192.168.1.100
default via 192.168.1.1 dev wlan0 proto static

So may-be a similar network configuration problem ?

Yes it was similar.

Before I could try it from my office network I had to reconfigure it for office network.

This is when I discovered an error in the network proxy server configuration for home network.

In the end, what I did was, ironically, used Windows XP and liveusb-creator on it. Sadly it is not easy to work with liveusb-creator with any other distro. Also, in windows XP liveusb-creator is acting weird. If any chance screensaver enters into action, all operations halt and naturally LiveUSB creation fails. Don't know why!
