I just downloaded Fedora 12 Live CD iso and burned it to disc. It booted nice at the beginning. When three bars at the bottom began to move I press ESC button and see textual booting. Everything is [OK] up until: "Loading abrt daemon [OK]"! After that it doesn't go anywhere. It just blinks. Any solutions? Don't tell me I just wasted 700MB....

I had a similar problem with my pc that has an ati/radeon video chipset. I had to add "nomodeset" to the grub kernel line and then it booted all the way up. :D

You are welcome. I know how frustrating some of these little things can be. This forum has been great for finding ways to get a new version installed and working enough to try it out. I am now learning how to send in bug reports and try and help others with what I have learned. I have had F12 from alpha, amazing to think how far I have come in the past couple years. Not to forget how far Fedora has come as well.

Me too facing problem with Fedora12 - KDE - Live CD which I downloaded on 23 Nov2009 through torrent. But, Exact problem is, booting reaches till complete desktop and hangs. No keyboard or Mouse control. Today, I will try the option specified and update the thread.
Advanced thanks,
Kumar

Edit: Hi,
By adding "nomodeset" while booting liveCD, I show the difference that, 3 color bar appeared with it. Still, after KDE loads my PC hangs. No mouse and keyboard control. I waited long time to see whether, PC is working too slow are what? No improvement.

My desktop got Intel Motherboard D102GGC2 and Intel Processor D 805 with inbuilt ATI graphics chipset of ATI X200. Video graphics is based on Radeon express 300.

Kindly provide some tips to boot the KDE.

Currently, I am using Ubuntu with Wubi without any problem. I want to switch over to Fedora, as I get the DVD from magazine which I can use to install GNOME or KDE with tools like K3B, Firefox, etc., With Ubuntu, I need to download one or other, which takes very long time with my dialup internet connect.

You should start a new topic for that. I think that way you'll have more success. Good luck!
