I noticed you changed the favicon from the default vbulliten one to the red hat. Wouldn't it make more sense to use a purple or blue hat. The same should be applied to fedora's Main Menu logo. I have seen the hat come in several colors, and fedora has distanced itself from redhat enough to use its own logo. There have been a few emails (http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-February/msg01588.html) discussing changing the "red" hat to a purple or blue one to mach fedora's color scheme. What does the community think about it?

We had a thread in the Staff forum appear about this a couple of days ago. It appears Ewdi had too much time on his hands, and knocked up a favicon (bless him). The colour was mentioned by someone, but as I said in that thread i don't think its the most pressing matter in the world.
I'd recommend pinging Ewdi if the colour affects you that much :p.

Then it will be call BlueHat Linux. :D No, becuase fedora is soon to become its own distro. Didn't you notice they changed all the system tools from redhat-config-* to system-config-*.
Another thing that bugs me is the name of the directory that holds all of the built rpms /usr/src/redhat Thats got to chage in the near future. I also noticed that in the binaries (anything compiled), if you open them with a test editor, you will find "redhat" in them. Fedora may be their sponsored test bed, but the community is quickly growing beyond them.

superbnerd I fear you overlook the fact that Fedora isn't going anywhere outside of Red Hat any time soon. You are correct to say that it is its own "distro" but at the same time all of the members of its "Steering Committee" are Red Hat employees.
Anyway, back on topic folks.

Does that mean you won't be living in penguin land anymore?
EDIT: Also, I'm not even seeing a hat favicon at all, it's still the same old blue V inside a yellow box for me on Firefox. I tried doing a forced refresh of the site holding shift while i reloaded the page, but it just opened the site in a new window. Is a forced refresh different in linux than in Win?

One down. Now for the Main Menu icon ;) They should let you choose between several colors, but a blue one will do.

And now...
Back to the topic.
It seems totally illogical to me, but when I access the fourm at work, on my Win 2000 box, I get a completely different favIcon. I looks like a square root symbol as far as my deflicted colour blind eyes can tell. Is there an javascript: if statement looking at the OS and giving a different icon?

That's odd.
Using Firefox 0.10.1, I cleared cashe and removed the bookmark. Then I went back in to the forums. Still see that icon what looks like a square root symbol.
Very Interesting! (he said from behind the bushes)
