Hello guys

I seem to experience a problem with the forum its maybe due to the fact that I don't check it every day....but its a bit anoying.

This is the problem.

I come here and click on the new posts since last visit and it gives me usually a big list of pages with new threads on it. So I start going through them and read the post I find interesting. I then goes back so I get back to the list of new threads and it works fine for serveral pages of threads but then suddenly I can't go back to the list of new threads for my user profile and its reset to 0 new threads.

I'm not sure if any one else has this problem but its a bit anoying as you lose out on new threads that you might find usefull or interesting.

It's not a huge problem as I could just go into the diffrent sections and look through it but its more time consuming to it that way.

Otherwise keep up the good work guys, this is trully a GREAT place to find help on Fedora problems.

I've noticed the same thing. Like you said, it's not a big problem but sometimes I see a topic I'd like to follow up on and the 'new post' is zeroed out. I've taken to using tab browsing. It seems to help.

WHOO that was fast replying...just stepped away to sort a problem in the conference room and answers already :)

I understand why it would mark me as read but why does it seem to work for a while? Or is it because the forum refreshes itself in the background?

I guess the easiest solution would be for me to come here more often so I can look at the ones I want before it stops working

Tabbed browsing is the best just open up one tab for the new posts and new ones for what you want to read

Another way of keeping track is going to the fedoraforum.org > thinggy place on the top left of you viewing page it kind of lets you knwo whats on currently

I know but I'm just lazy I don't want to open new tabs....:)

Doesn't the forum time out after a relatively short period of time of inactivity? Say 10 minutes, so it resets the new posts.

no it doesnt, once you view all new topics it is out, your cookies will be updated

This should also happen to all of your searches, since a new thread seach is just threads since your last visit.

I load all 4-5 pages or whatever all at once in seperate windows and then load the threads in tabs.
