Hi All,

I have trying to install the new F12 Beta on my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 Laptop and every time in different section of the installation method the screen going black and that's that.

When going trough the "basic Video driver" the installation finished OK.

This Laptop have "switchable display adapter"
* Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD
* ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256 MB) at the same time (so called "Switchable Graphics")
As for linux does not support this H.W. feature (yet) I've disabled it (in the BIOS ) an working with only with the ATI.
I presume it is something to do with the new kernel drivers for the ATI.

Please advice

G.

try booting with the kernel parameter 'pcie_aspm=off' . If that doesn't help, try 'nomodeset' instead.

There appear to be quite a few people with similar problems to this, we're currently trying to pin down whether it's one issue or many closely-related issues.

I have F11 on my Laptop and I'm goign to try th F12beta on separate partition - so If you want I can try several things to try an help debug... ;-)

Did the beta install work, and what did you do to solve your problem? I also have a T400 with F11 running on it as well as F10.

the nomodeset have helped with installation process - but I think you better install the RC of wait to the GA - since I am now with the RC and all work well.
