The best way to see if a processor supports long mode is to try booting it with a 64-bit live cd in. :)
What do you mean cannot boot csuccessfully? Does it give an error saying something to the effect of "the processor does not support long mode"? Anywho, Intel's site says no, it is not a 64-bit processor. Stick with the 32-bit disk.

oh ,
nice.:)
the livecd-usb boot-er shows error-message, it finds the cpu just "i686", then waits for reboot.. :)
