View Full Version : No Use F12 just as good as "F"

I tried live Alfa release after verifying checksum ( verify and boot). It will show some activity ( reading CD - lights on ) and then after some time stay just static. Same with plain boot.
I am running C2D P3250 CPU .
Downloaded fresh copy from another mirror -same problem.

Try using the :
nomodeset
kernel parameter when booting the cd and when plymouth pops up with the progress bar, hit esc key a few times until it drops. You might get lucky and it boots or you could get some on screen feedback as to what's going wrong.

A side note that might be helpful is to always use 4x speed when burning boot iso images to disc. Slower burning reduces the chance of a bad burn, especially if you use a blank disc which has a faster max speed than your cdrw/dvdrw drive's max speed.

the alpha is pretty outdated now, and testing it isn't very useful any more. The beta is coming soon, or you can try a nightly live build:
