Is this an upgrade or fresh installation? Upgrading may cause certain hardware to malfunction.

Hi,

My Fedora core 2 is fresh installation system, not upgrade from fedora core 1.

I don't know why FC2 not support AWE64 (EMU8K). It working in FC1.

Anyone facing a problem for ISA sound card?

Pls help me...!
Thanks.

I just recently installed ISA card (Gravis Ultrasound plug and play) in Fedora 2. I noticed that, it didn't autodetect that card. I loaded the correct module with Modprobe and adjusted the volume in alsamixer and it worked.
So log in as root or use Su. Check with lsmod-command if snd-emu8k is loaded. If not, load it with Modprobe and adjust volume in alsamixer.

I have a Sound Blaster AWE64 card, & initially had no sound when I installed Fedora Core 3.
Here is a link that I used to successfully configure the SB AWE64 card, that should work in Fedora Core 2 as well, a fix from the Red Hat archives, noting that ISA cards are no longer officially supported.
See http://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-list/2004-November/msg00917.html
Hope you can soon enjoy sound from your card again.
