f12alpha: unable to load libfreeb13.so

Hi,

I have updated my fedora12 alpha system. When I try to reboot my system, it fails to boot thereafter(restarts continuosly). "I see a message during boot like unable to load shared library libfreebl3.so" I guess networking related packages have not installed properly.

Also interactive startup pressing 'I' won't work. How can I fix the system to bootup ?. It does not even boot in single or emergency mode also.

Hey, it is solved!

The problem was that /usr partition got corrupted that is why the library could not be loaded. I repaired the partition using 'PartitionMagick CD'. Now it is working fine!

Could I have done it with utilities in fedora liveCD or rescue CD ?

Have you figured out how it got corrupted?

Whether you could have fixed it in Linux depends on the nature of the problem. If the partition was created in another OS and has a bad starting point, that can usually be fixed by fdisk. If you fire up fdisk and pass it the device name and it coughs up a warning and says it will fix it on save then you are usually fine. If it is another type of error we would need to know the nature of the error and what rescue info if any you have available.
