How come things cant continue to work from one version to the next, and good things are removed?

Sound works fc10, but not fc11 ?

Why was the efficient and useful KDE 3.5 scrapped so we were forced to use the barely passable gnome interface (now its difficult and much more cumbersome to mass change permissions, etc.).

How come the NetworkManager became the bane of network admins by constantly sabotaging our settings?

Because it is Fedora :)

Only for some. For others sound did not work in F10 but it now does in F11. The name of the game is called PulseAudio.

My reason for even answering you. Watcha talkin about Willis? KDE is KDE and Gnome is Gnome and they BOTH suck but no one is "forcing" you to use either. Maybe you just diodnt realize that you downloaded the KDE version in F10? F11 has a KDE version also.

Yeah, NM sucks. What I want to know is why they did away with the beautiful WICD in the mint Xfce version and went with NM in Mint 7 Xfce? I hate NM and wouldnt you know it it is buggy as heck this time round.

Because Fedora is a place to advance the DEVELOPMENT of Linux by using the best available.
Many version releases of software are NOT backwards compatible.
python, perl, PHP, gcc, kernel, xorg, sound, video drv's to name a few.

If sound is your requirement for life, run a Linux that has great sound. More than one distro is designed for sound and video.

When the others catch up to Fedora, they will have great sound and video, and all of the above.
Fedora is the shop floor, not the retail store.

Or you can download the sources and change it to you own needs. BTW: It's free.
