Hello,
I am a Fedora newbie and recently installed Fedora 11 on a HP DV9543 Pavilion laptop. Installation went thru fine, but the touchpad does not work. I checked the Mouse preferences, but the tab (for enabling the touchpad as mentioned by many) does not exist. Do I need to install the drivers? How do I do that?
Pls help
Madhu

You first need to check whether your hardware is properly detected. The commands lspci or lsusb should show you lists of hardware and your touchpad should be listed. If it isn't listed, there maybe is a problem with the hardware.

Hi,Thanks for your mail.
I am able to see a 'Touchpad' option in the System->Preferences menu. I get an error message 'SHMConfig must be true in xorg.conf' I tries searching this file but could not locate it. Can this be done at the terminal? Any suggestions?
Thanks.
