View Full Version : Fedora 12 Snap1 LiveUSB Boot Error

Hi,

Does somebody know how to create the correct LiveUSB with this Snap1 LiveCD ?

I downloaded the i686 LiveCD image yesterday and followed the normal way to create the LiveUSB on my thumb drive. It overrode the existing Fedora 11 LiveUSB image and reported successfully.

However, when I rebooted my laptop from this LiveUSB, an error message interrupted the KMS-enabled Plymouth booting by saying "No root device found. Boot has failed, sleeping forever."

Interestingly, the LiveCD itself works pretty well under VBox 3.0.4. So it seems that the problem happened at the transition from LiveCD to LiveUSB.

Any idea ?

ie try editing the kernel boot line to root=live:LABEL=LIVE

(you can also boot it from a hard disk partition, see snapshot1 thread)

Yeah, it works.

Thanks~

I have to admit that it is REALLY a release blocker.
