Fedora 11 - Load to RAM

Older versions of Fedora and other distros have this option, so I wonder why it is no longer present? How would I get the livecd to load completely into RAM?

A live CD/DVD OS IS running completely in RAM (except for SWAP, if any Linux SWAP partition is available on HDD).

If you have a LiveCD and have sufficient amount of ram you could run from ram and eject the LiveCD to free up the cd/dvd drive. :)

EDIT: I dug out an miniDVD-RW that had "Fedora-6-Zod-LiveCD-1" still on it and at the boot menu you could choose to "install to ram" and eject the cd.
During boot up on the kernel line was "livecd livecd_ram" took a few minutes to load to ram though. :)

This is a great idea! My old desktop's hard drive and CD drive is very noisy and I would like to use it only for donating the CPU power to a "@home" like project. So if i can run the OS on RAM completely, then i can keep my desktop running in my office without any annoying noise. Note that creating a live usb drive is another option however my desktop's bios does not support booting from usb drive.
